Democracy Key for a Secure Afghanistan

 

President Barak Obama met with the leaders of Afghanistan and Pakistan in May earlier this year at a tri-lateral summit in Washington. During talks with President Hamid Karzai and the President Asif Ali Zardari, he made it clear that the USA is committed to supporting both countries in their fight against terrorism.

Daniela Kuneva from the Bulgarian National Television network is an award-winning journalist who specialises in reporting from the Far East. Mrs Kuneva was the first Bulgarian foreign correspondent in Japan, and the first female reporter in that country.

DISEC members discuus Iran's Draft ResolutionA last minute draft resolution of the DPR of Korea, Iran, Syria and Venezuela prolonged the session to a ridiculous extent. When their Draft Resolution was finally declined the way was free for real compromise.

First draft resolution on the second topic of the UNDP finally presented

 Around 11 am yesterday morning, already four working papers were being presented in the UNDP debate on water corruption. In the afternoon the committee divided into two groups, basically developing countries versus developed countries, to write two draft resolutions. One of the resolutions was presented at the end of the day, having both sponsors and opposers.
