BREAKING NEWS - MISSILES LAUNCHED IN SEA OF JAPAN

 

The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea has launched short-range missiles towards the Sea of Japan. The 5 Scud-Type missiles launched where outside the previously stated military firing exercise which requested all boats to maintain outside the area between June 24 and July 9. This unexpected and uninformed exercise has unfortunately hit an 80 foot Chinese State Owned fishing boat. The 30 Chinese nationals in the boat deceased during this exercise. The Republic of Korea and Japan have both expressed grave concern in this provocative act and expresses its deepest condolences for the Chinese and their losses in this unexpected and unprovoked exercise.

Peacebuilding Commission in the Mood for Solutions

  The  PBC, started off enthusiastically the discussion on peace building towards the construction of capable states in Africa and the role of developed countries. The delegates were determined to agree on a solid resolution. But as soon as the discussion started Russia, China and the USA were accused of ignoring the problems in Africa.

Intensive Debate Concerning the Future of Africa

An intese debate took place in the PBC this morning.  The problems of Peacebuilding in Africa and the relations with developed countries was the topic. After a calm opening session, the discussion became more and more lively. Countries accused one another of failing to help improve the situation in Africa.

Rain of Unfriendly Amendments at DISEC

Although only one draft resolution resulted from the previous meetings, it is still unknown when the resolution will be passed. It is being strongly opposed by the Iranian delegate and his allies. In total, eleven unfriendly amendments have been issued.

Successful Passing of Draft Resolution in UNDP

It was a productive morning for the UNDP Committee as the draft resolution for the Public-Private Partnerships in managing natural resources was finally passed.
